Who We Serve

Our landscape metalwork clients include landscape architects and contractors, residential developers, condominium property managers, municipalities, hospitality operators, and homeowners seeking bespoke outdoor elements across the GTA and Southern Ontario.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Corten (weathering steel) is the most popular choice for outdoor planters in Canada. It develops a protective rust-like patina that halts corrosion, requires no painting or coating, and is well-suited to freeze-thaw cycles. Stainless steel is preferred where a cleaner, modern look is desired or where the planter is near a pool or salt-treated area.

  •  Corten steel landscape elements are designed to last decades with minimal maintenance. The natural oxidized patina that forms in the first few years acts as a barrier against further corrosion. Proper drainage in planters is important to prevent standing water at the base.

  • Yes. All of our planters, edging, and landscape elements are custom-fabricated to client specifications — any size, shape, or profile. We work from sketches, architectural drawings, or site measurements.

  • Yes. UAMW fabricates steel-frame pergolas and shade structures of all sizes, including cable-tensioned canopy systems and hybrid designs that combine steel with timber or polycarbonate roofing. We handle fabrication and installation.

  • For mild steel, we offer powder coating in a wide range of RAL colours, which provides excellent UV and weather resistance. Corten is typically left to weather naturally. Stainless steel can be brushed or left in a mill finish. All finishes are selected for outdoor durability in the GTA climate.

  • Yes. We work closely with landscape architects and designers to match profiles, finishes, and proportions to the overall design language of a project — whether that's a minimalist contemporary palette or a more traditional material mix.
